The Gallery
Dark halls under canvas. A fisherman who never left his chair. A fortune nobody wants told. And somewhere in the fog, she is waiting.
The Haunted Cove — of —
A free Halloween walk-through haunt in Herriman, Utah. Two nights only. Built by hand, by one family, every October.
Il Custode tells every group
Buonasera. Welcome to Borgata Rivetti.
High in the chestnut woods above Mattie, in the mountains of Piedmont, stands a hamlet of old stone houses called Riviaut — Rivetti in the local dialect. Nobody lives there now.
But the old people say that on this one night, when the veil between the living and the dead is thinnest, the masche — the witches of the valley — still dance around their fires…
…and that a young woman in a white dress, with long red hair, still walks between the chestnut trees, looking for someone.
Tonight the Rivetti family has opened the gate.
Stay together. Keep walking.
And if she finds you…
don’t let her take your hand.
The village is real
Borgata Rivetti — Riviaut in the local dialect — is a real hamlet of stone houses in the mountains of Piedmont, Italy. On Halloween night 2021, the town of Mattie organized a nighttime “investigation” there, retelling its old stories: the masche dancing at their Sabbath fires, and a young woman in white with red hair who wanders among the chestnut trees.
Our family’s roots are in these mountains. For more than twenty Octobers we’ve decorated our yard in Herriman — and this year the Borgata becomes something you walk through.
What waits inside
A winding path through four parts of the Borgata, walked in small groups. Bring a friend you can grab.
Dark halls under canvas. A fisherman who never left his chair. A fortune nobody wants told. And somewhere in the fog, she is waiting.
Black water and green light. Mind the bog — something down there is still hungry.
The old crypt, the laboratory, a carnival that should have closed long ago, and a campfire nobody tends.
Giants at the gate, the dragons’ lair — and, if you make it, candy at the door.
